The Special Divisional Coordination Committee Meeting of the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat was held on 25.02.2026 under the leadership of MP Kandhasamy Prabhu, with the participation of Minister Sunil Handunnetti, other Members of Parliament, local council representatives, government officials, and community representatives.
The meeting began with an address by the Divisional Secretary, followed by a briefing on ongoing and future development projects.
Key issues discussed included the rising human–wild elephant conflict and preventive measures, the need for paddy dryers to improve storage and marketing of harvested paddy, and urgent attention to damaged and required new bridges. Several other regional development matters were also reviewed.
