The inauguration ceremony of the Social Productivity Model Village Project with the objective of “A prosperous village that builds the nation” was held on 16.03.2026 under the chairmanship of Divisional Secretary Mrs. Sathyananthi Namasivayam in the Kanchiranguda Grama Niladhari Division of the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat Division.
Following the speech delivered by the Divisional Secretary at this event, a report containing the social productivity development activities and future development activities identified by the Productivity Development Officer was handed over to the Divisional Secretary and the Clean Sri Lanka Project Regional Coordinator.
Also present at the event were the Honorary Chairman of the Manmunai West Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. D. Gopalapillai; the Clean Sri Lanka Project Area Coordinator; honorary Pradeshiya Sabha members; Project Coordination and Development Officers Mr. R. Prasad and Mr. K. Jayanandam; Village Officers; Community Empowerment Officers; Divisional Secretariat Officers; Community Productivity Model Village members; and representatives of village-level organizations and well-wishers who attended and graced the event.
This project is an important initiative to increase the productivity of rural people and create sustainable development and a prosperous rural community.
