To mark National Environment Day and National Dengue Eradication Week, special *shramadana* (voluntary community service) activities were successfully conducted on June 26, 2026; the event was organized by the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat in collaboration with the Manmunai West Pradeshiya Sabha and the Vavunathivu Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office.
While the main event took place in the Vavunathivu Grama Niladhari Division, environmental cleanup and dengue eradication activities were simultaneously carried out in other Grama Niladhari Divisions within the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat area.
Many people participated enthusiastically in this event, including Divisional Secretary Mrs. Namasivayam Sathyananthi, the Deputy Director of Planning, the Secretary of the Manmunai West Divisional Council, the Senior Public Health Inspector, officers from the Vavunathivu Police Station, officials from the Divisional Secretariat and Divisional Council, representatives of village-level organizations, and members of the public.
